Facebook cover photo n profile picture

ANDDDDD ...... I'm finally doing this kinda thing, haha, making a profile picture that match with the cover photo in facebook :P
This is all because I read a children book in library today n fall in love with Lane Smith :D His 'This is a Book' was really interesting n some kinda inspiring. So I just steal :P one of the illustrations in the book fm his web n use it as my cover photo after photoshop. And adding my 5-min doodles for the coming 2014 few days later.

I always love pun, and the words jerk and drain is surely one good topic for me :P have found it funny a few times, and this time just decided to combine it out haha.

As a design student, i always have to think of ideasssssssss, and sometimes I just cant think of anything which my brain not functioning well and is blocking, it would be awesome if there is a tool can help me clear the passage of my brain like toilet pump...

Since my idol Fiona Sit is holding a little competition of covering her new song in a creative way, my friend and I have made something that is fun. With the bun of 諸葛亮, our new cover called 豬割亮, which means a pig cutting the moon. My friend is responsible for the singing and lyrics rewriting and me in charge of the visual , animation :]

Summer Bone poster

This is a poster designed for a trombone concert that called Summer Bone.The trombone is changed to a shape of shower stand and the background used beach to show the freshness of summer. I have thought about the shape of trombone is kinda changed too much that people may cant recognise the main purpose of the poster, but the organiser think it's nice and people who see this poster are those coming for the concert, so no worry, then this is the final work.In addition, it's hard to decide everything without the guidance of tutor :[

Have bought a digital tablet these days, and it's super hard to handle for me, but I still find it interesting. Still hvn't figured out the brushes things... anyway, pictures below are drawn for the campaign for promoting a song of my favourite singer - fiona sit. It's abt love, holiday, freedom or summer :]

Paper Roll

I have found that there are some people using paper roll to make some artworks on the internet, so, as yesterday was mother's day, I have tried this things and gave it to my mum as the present :P Since it's my very first time to make these things, it's not good i know lol but should be a good try though :DD

Image and Type Experiment

These are the assignments experiments for the course Image and type, which is aimed to show who I am. I called it as experiments because these are not very finished and it's kinda my experiments for using photoshops. Im glad that i know more photoshops after the assignment, but still not good. :P

I do not talk much.

The poster aims to show I am a talkative person. In the poster, the conversation bubble is so long that it exceeded the screen and even out of the poster, this shows I can talk relentlessly and might even break rules. The scenario could take place in a lecture hall becasue that is where I kept on talking - especially during boring classes. The background is a little blurred to allow the conversation bubble stands out. For the title, lie is being used. “I do not talk much” means that I did not actually talk but I texted in the poster. The font of the title used chalk to match with the background. Also, surrealism and exaggeration have been used to make the aim more apparent.

I cant stand being alone.Obvious, it's like the title, i cant resist loneliness... And alone make me feel like i m at the edge of the cliff and going to fall down, need somebody to come and save me. Simple concept, simple drawing to show the contrast. Used a wrinkled paper as the background to intimate when I write, the paper should be so unclean because I have to erased my text so many times to organise my mind.

Illustration Friday - Urban

Just a 5-mins sketch with pencil, have been in my mind for a few days, but no time to draw and complete it as a picture, but still adorable huh? :P

I always hope I can be like a dinosaur and ruin the whole urban city when i watch the anime, Ultraman Tiga, should feel really great  (I am such a evil human being :P) 

Illustration friday - Egg

First time to submit drawing to IF, so excited :D

Not a good one though... totally show how bad my watercolour and colour pencil skills are...

It's about a chick staying inside the eggshell, and don't wanna go outside. We often look at the outside of egg, but never look from the inside. Eggshell is like the protective zone and home, I often wanna stay in the shell and not to get in touch with the world, just like the chick inside. And I remember my first day going to kindergarten, i keep askin my mum "can I not go outside?" I just wanna hide in my home and my shell. :[

But sure, the world outside is colourful and cheerful, so chick! Let's go outside and explore! :D

Clown

It's a little expressive illustration drawn when i'm younger.

It should be the crying that make his nose red,
layers and layers of make-up is done to cover the tear stains,
the super big smile he wear is the symbol of numb...
He can bring happiness to other,
but also can make myself believe in my lies,
then, why.  don't . be . a . clown?

A boy take a deep breathe so that we can get himself so prepared for the swimming, however, the water level of the swimming pool is so low that don't even cover his mouth, so what he has done is meaningless, haha.

Lighting Practise!

This is a lighting practise :D and here is the story: a girl waiting for somebody with hope, and the bus come and left, the one she is looking for didn't come and she wait there till mid-night alone.

Ahhhh, still dunno how to control lighting /__\ so hard to learn that skill, only know how to use the colour, but still it's a monotone... 

btw, i hv only used 5 hours for the props making and setting and camera-ing! How efficient I am, haha!( that's why it perform badly, right? haha

x'mas card

 This is a card for my 2 friends who go study oversea. The weather of UK is cold, while HK always stay warm. But I believe the time gap and weather would not affect our friendship, cause our love can be protected and connected with internet! :DD I love them!

School work 5 and 6

Just design a postcard for a festival or holidays, i dunno why, but mother's day pop up right away, so here it is dedicated to my mum! Haha, i didn't ask my mum to watch the video after finishing it... because she is by my side, doing her own works when i am making the clip, and i bet she is so sick of the music and sound of the track, i found it very annoying too, haha. But my teacher said that adding audio can have a higher score, then... XDD don't turn on the audio while watching, it turn the atmosphere from warm to hilarious!!

This is a poster designed for the annual show of my school. This do not take me much time to finish, it's the theme that we have to think by ourselves defeat me XDD yup, I have finally chosen cooperation as the theme and the skill of repetition to complete it. Love the little men doing the building work :p

School work 3

As you see, this is an assignment to design a set of coaster for halloween. This one is not a good one as my teacher consist to have something simple and representative. But mine is actually quite complicated and u know what, it's a story! Yea, a vampire story. It goes like this, bats come in the middle of the night, kill a women, it become a little vampire girl after sucking blood and leave the house happily and satisfactorily. It's a naive girl at the end because i think it is the most horrible thing is the turning bad of something childish. ha. The score of the work may not be high, but i love it so muhc:D

School work 2

This assignment is meant to design our name with the combination of different font and show the feeling of contrast and harmony.  

For the contrast one, my name ella is actually come from the last four letter of pretty fairy tale princess cinderella. She is such a elegant and gentle person, however, I am not. I don't wait for my prince charming from difficulties. To show this, I used elegant font which are the curve lines and dots for the E and A, which is set aside and faded out by the white line. The 2 L combine to form a stair, which means that i go step by step for my future with my effort, and the font are strong and straight, this should show contrast with the softness of E and A :D

Harmony show that I'm a person who love nature, it can be seen by the tree and the nest of E. The fonts are quite irregular because i'm not the kind of person who follow rules and I think differently and not go with the flow. And the E being revert horizontally and the A being cut like half also represent my weirdness, haha.

School Work 1

It 's an assignment askin us ti use the word "outside" and "inside" to show the relationship of 2. :D

The teacher told me that the second and the forth one are actually not so good because the skill she wanted us to learn is typography, and these 2 are too unclear to read... Yes, i agree with that, but i still found it interesting to present in this way~
